Uses of Different Concrete Grades

Choosing the appropriate grade of concrete for the construction project is defined as per structural engineer instruction and these calculation are based on the load which any structure is supposed to bear. It is recommended to use Machine mix concrete only.

What can be done with these grades, and which is ideal for the task at hand? The finest applications for several of the earliest concrete grades are listed below.

Where do we use M5 grade concrete?

Used for: Sometimes when any area is over excavated by mistake or intentionally for the foundation of any building it cannot be refilled with earth/soil as it might be completely stable as it will be hard strata hence it is recommended to fill those area with C5 concrete. it is most economical concrete but its uses are very limited for only filling purposes. This concrete has very low strength hence lower bearing capacity. It is expected to attain a strength of 5 N/mm2 after 28 days.

Type: Residential and business usage

Where do we use M7.5&M10 grade concrete?

used for: Mostly all levelling works where building load are not directly impacting on that surface is used make a layer between sand and main concrete structure. So it is mostly used for non-structural work like paths, and laying as a base for foundation of any building, base below pipe line work, bridges etc. It is expected to attain a strength of 7.5 N/mm2 for M7.5 concrete and 10N/mm2 for M10 concrete after 28 days.

Type: Residential and business usage

Where do we use M15 grade concrete?

Used for: It is used for some flooring works like below wooden floors or stone floors. it can be used on terrace to cover the water proof surfaces. it can be used for pavement kerbs as well. It is expected to attain a strength of 15 N/mm2 after 28 days.

Type: Residential and business usage

Where do we use M20 grade concrete?

used for: it is used for home foundations and flooring (where the weight of structure will be lighter). Additionally useful for interior floor slabs, garages, driveways, and workshop bases, Cemented Road work in smaller colonies. It is expected to attain a strength of 20 N/mm2 after 28 days.

Domestic and commercial in nature

Where do we use M25 grade concrete?

Used for: This is the most commonly used concrete grade in Construction of each type building including foundations, Retaining wall, Slab floors, Beam and column. It is expected to attain a strength of 25 N/mm2 after 28 days.

Domestic and commercial in nature

Where do we use M30 grade concrete?

Used for: Roadways and walking trails (this is the lowest grade concrete mix that can be used for this purpose). more resilient to wear and tear than earlier grades, making it significantly more weather-resistant and capable of withstanding high traffic. It is also used inbuilding component like Column and beam. It is expected to attain a strength of 30 N/mm2 after 28 days.

Type: Business

Where do we use M35 grade concrete?

Used for: This concrete can be used for Commercial constructions like Mall, Industrial building, office spaces and high rise buildings. This dense concrete mixture is typically used to build exterior walls, slabs, and structural piles. It is expected to attain a strength of 35 N/mm2 after 28 days.

Type: Business

Where do we use M40 grade concrete?

Used for: Building roads, and beams columns for structural support on commercial building projects. The most resilient material on our list, M40 can survive chemical corrosion as well, making it popular for use in septic tanks and on farms where slurry may cause structural corrosion. It is expected to attain a strength of 40 N/mm2 after 28 days.

Type: Business

Where do we use M50 and higher grade concrete?

Used for: These type of concrete can be used for Flyover and Bridges. It is expected to attain a strength of 50 N/mm2 after 28 days and higher depend on grade.
